Who we are
Worth Doing is a guide to cultural events in New York: music, theater, film, museums, and more. Listings are pulled from events already published by organizers and venues, with the goal of giving them more visibility. Every listing links back to the organizer's own site, which owns the content and any ticket sales.
Worth Doing is operated by Lifeworld Labs LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company.

02
What we collect
When you visit the site, the services we use may log, as any website does:
- Your IP address (used by Cloudflare, our hosting/CDN provider, like any website).
- Your browser's user agent, language, and device type.
- The time of your visit and the pages or files you requested.
We don't ask for an email, phone number, address, payment details, or any form of ID to use the site. There are no user accounts.
If you write to us through the contact/feedback form, the "do you know the time?" form, or by email, we receive whatever you send us: your message and, if you included it, your email address so we can reply.
03
What we store on your own device
So your favorites and preferences carry over between visits, we save a few things in your browser's localStorage. That lives on your device, not on our servers. It includes, among other things:
- The list of events you've marked as favorites.
- Categories you've hidden in your preferences.
- Whether you've already seen the intro tutorial.
- Whether you've installed the app (PWA).
- A randomly generated, pseudonymous per-browser identifier. It's sent to our own server only when you tap the "love" button, so we don't count the same tap twice — it isn't tied to your name or any other identifying information.
You can clear all of it at any time from your browser's site settings.
04
Analytics (Google Analytics 4)
We use Google Analytics 4 (a separate Google Analytics property from our Buenos Aires site) to understand which parts of the site get used, which filters help, and which listings get clicked. This helps us improve Worth Doing. What GA4 receives is tied to your browser, not to your name: it's pseudonymous, not anonymous.
- Page views and named interaction events: searches, filter changes, marking or viewing favorites, clicks on our social links, feedback and "suggest a time" submissions, and app-install prompts.
- Whether you're using the website or the installed app (PWA).
- Whether you appear to be a returning visitor, based on a first-visit timestamp saved in your browser.
Google may use this data under its own policy. More info: policies.google.com/privacy.
If you visit from the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Analytics is off until you choose: a notice asks you to accept or reject it. If you tap "Accept", Analytics loads; if you tap "Reject" or don't choose, it never loads and the site works exactly the same. Everywhere else, Analytics is on by default and no notice is shown. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt-out and Analytics does not load. To tell which case applies, your browser asks Cloudflare which country you're in (from your IP address); we don't keep that answer. Anyone can change their mind at any time with the "Cookies" link at the bottom of any page. You can also block it with Google's official Analytics opt-out or a standard tracking blocker.
Data goes to the United States. Google, Cloudflare and Formspree are US companies, so the data described above is processed there when you use those services.
05
Third-party services we use
To run the site and handle the little data we need, we use:
- Cloudflare — hosts and protects the site.
- Google Analytics — usage metrics, under the rules in section 04.
- Formspree — receives form messages and forwards them to us by email.
- Google, OpenStreetMap and unpkg — deliver the icons and the map. When you use them, your browser requests those files from them and they see your IP address.
Each of these services has its own privacy policy and handles data under its own terms.
06
Cookies
Worth Doing does not set its own cookies for tracking. Google Analytics sets a couple of cookies on this domain (_ga and _ga_…, to tell repeat visits apart) only when Analytics is on (see section 04); if you reject it, or switch it off later from the "Cookies" link at the bottom of the page, they are not set (or are deleted). Once set, they are governed by Google's own policy, not ours. As noted above, your favorites and preferences are saved in localStorage, not in cookies.
07
External links
Every listing links to the organizer's official site or the relevant ticketing page. Those sites are run by other parties and have their own privacy policies. We're not responsible for what those sites do with your data.
08
Your rights
We don't keep a profile of you: there's no account and no email tied to a user identity. Still, if you've emailed us and want that conversation deleted, or want to know what information we have about you, write to us and we'll sort it out.
New York's consumer-protection law requires that whatever a business's privacy policy says be accurate and actually followed; it's enforced by the New York Attorney General's office, which also publishes a consumer guide to web tracking. If you believe we're not following this policy, you can raise it there. In the unlikely event of a data breach involving your personal information, we will notify affected New York residents as required by the state's SHIELD Act.
09
Children
Worth Doing is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you're a parent and think a child in your care sent us information (for example, through the feedback form), email us and we'll remove it.
10
Changes to this policy
If anything important changes in how we handle your data, we'll update this document and change the "Last updated" date above. If the change is substantial, we'll try to flag it on the site.
11
Contact
Questions, complaints, takedown requests, or you're an organizer who wants to add, fix, or remove a listing: write to us. We read everything.
